About Michelle Wade

Michelle has over 3 decades of high-end residential interior design experience – with works published nationally and locally.  Michelle’s credentials began by earning an Interior Design Degree from The University of North Texas with a minor in Construction Science (Circa 1991) where she became proficient at AutoCAD (in DOS by coordinates – IYKYK).  She began her career as an intern for Manheim Galleries in Dallas where she developed an eye for furniture design while working daily with period antiques and exquisite objects d’art.

From there, Michelle worked for Kreiss Custom Upholstery and Country English Case Goods Showroom, further forming her mastery of textiles and custom furniture designs. Casting her design net wider, Michelle worked as an Interior Designer with an Accessory-Buying Specialty at Design Design Inc.  She was able to polish her Furniture Design skills by designing and executing shop drawings for a furniture and accessory line to be made overseas by China’s premier artist while serving as an accessory buyer at major markets.

Her husband’s career moved them to St. Louis where she began raising two daughters.  In St. Louis, she managed an Interior Design Firm with a Retail Antique Store front house and full upholstery workshop in back. It was here, along with the Kriess showroom experience, that she refined her knowledge of upholstery design.

Michelle Wade Design’s goal is to maximize the potential of every space with functionally beautiful interiors that clients are proud to call home.

Upon moving back to Texas in 2006, she worked as a Senior Designer for an iconic and nationally known Ft. Worth designer.  Working at this firm provided many opportunities for furniture, fabric, lighting, millwork, and carpet design.  Most of the projects led by Michelle were published in design magazines both locally and nationally.  One of the most published works was a 43,000 sq ft Sorority house for a major university that has since been deemed “The South’s Most Beautiful Sorority House”.  Michelle was also privileged to design a series of timeless rooms for one of the last Southern Accents Showhouses. She relished the opportunity to work with national and local vendors to put on the show of a lifetime!

After 9 years with the design firm, Michelle took her decades of experience, impeccable taste, managerial talent, vision for things unseen, and unique one-of-a-kind touch with antiques to create all that is Michelle Wade Design.  She has been helping clients with home projects of all sizes since. In today’s high stress and isolating climate, she has had multiple opportunities to transform master baths into calming spa-like retreats and utilitarian kitchens into functionally beautiful gathering spaces. Michelle’s goal is to maximize the potential of every space with functionally beautiful interiors that clients are proud to call home.
